Impact Lab

The objective of this project is to establish an Impact Lab. Society is facing significant challenges that require changes and immediate actions. Policy frameworks are being developed at local, regional, national, and European levels to define, prepare for, and activate transitions in various domains. Knowledge institutions are reorienting themselves to become key players in this transition process.

Howest aims to contribute to these processes through both education and research. Mission-driven research, focusing on impact monitoring, evaluation, and impact-oriented actions, provides a suitable framework. To achieve this, an 'Impact Lab' is being developed to support researchers within and outside Howest, as well as professionals in the field. Additionally, Howest coordinates the RUN-EU Impact Observatory (RIO), where frameworks for impact are developed, and the impact of this European University is assessed.
